95% of a sales professional’s interaction with prospects and customers occurs over the phone and internet. For this reason, join.me is an ideal tool when pitching these prospects or demoing a product. An article from earlier this year on Business2Community.com nicely outlines the reasons why join.me is a smart choice for inside sales professionals. Here’s our take.
1. Contains Costs
Overhead costs of web conferencing tools, CRM, phones, software, etc. add up very quickly. If you’re a SMB salesperson, keeping these costs down is vital to your business. The free and pro versions of join.me provide options for every sized business or personal user. The free meeting tool allows up to 10 meeting participants. The pro version, available for $13/month, allows up to 250 meeting participants and additional features, not available in the free version.
2. Instant Screen Sharing
The speed, simplicity and reliability, of join.me’s instant screen sharing capabilities are what users love most about our tool. It’s cliché, but first impressions count, and in sales and marketing, they count in dollars. If you’re pitching new business or trying to advance accounts with clients, being able to immediately connect, without the fear of hassles on either end, can go a long way toward winning over new accounts. If you have a prospect on the phone and you determine that it is appropriate to show them a demonstration screen, you need a tool that will enable your prospect to view your screen, regardless of the browser, firewall or security settings on either computer. Ever wish you could circle that word, highlight that line, or laser-focus on one part of your screen? Well, today you can. join.me pro now includes annotation for hosts and viewers, including drawing on the screen with a highlighter or pen, or focusing on a certain aspect of your screen with a laser pointer. You can choose up to six colors to annotate with, and we even offer collaborative annotation, where both the host and viewers can annotate at the same time. And don’t worry – you can save your annotations with the click of a button and access them at any time.

Today’s a good day for everyone who’s upgraded to Windows 8 – join.me now fully supports both sharing and viewing in Windows 8. Don’t have Windows 8 yet? There’s still two cool enhancements to join.me: One, your desktop app will now autofill (in the “join” field) your frequently visited personal URL’s. (Read: Less typing for you.) You can also move the join.me menu behind what you’re sharing – it’s a little more flexible now.
Happy sharing – let us know what you think in the comments.
What do you want first – the good news, or the even better news?
The good news is that join.me pro users can now schedule meetings with their personal link. Check out the screenshot below – you now have the option to schedule meetings with a random, one-time code or the personal link you’ve created for yourself.
The even better news is that we are planning on adding even more goodies to the join.me scheduler, so stay tuned to the blog for updates.
What’s the next feature you’d like to see in the scheduler? Leave your suggestion in the comments.

Checking out the preview release of Windows 8? If you’re not, here’s a great reason: We just released a new join.me viewer in the Windows Store that will allow you to view any join.me meeting from your Windows PC, tablet or smartphone, all in the brand-new Windows 8 style. Check it out below:

Ever wish you could share just one file on your computer instead of your whole desktop? Welcome to window sharing, now in beta.
join.me‘s debuted a whole new look for pro Mac users, allowing you to choose either your whole desktop or just one window for your viewers to see. This way, when you’re sharing your screen, you have more control over what your viewers see – no more pesky Outlook reminders or IMs popping up in your meetings (hey, it’s happened to all of us.)
To choose a window to share, click on the drop-down arrow under the broadcast button and click “Window”. Hover over any of the open windows on your computer and click one to start sharing. Ta-da: Your viewers now only see that one window and nothing else. Now, you can share anything – without sharing everything.
Mac users can check this feature out now by signing up or signing in with their pro credentials at beta.join.me and starting a session. Since we’re still in beta, feedback is wanted and welcome at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Windows users: You’re up next – keep checking the blog for news on window sharing for Windows beta availability.
Good news! Our brand new Mac app is now available on join.me. It’s new, improved, faster, slicker – but still the same join.me you know and love. Start a join.me session on your Mac at join.me to check out the new app.
Using a PC? We haven’t forgotten about you – stay tuned for a new Windows app coming to our beta site soon.
