Schedule your meetings with a personal link

What do you want first – the good news, or the even better news?

The good news is that join.me pro users can now schedule meetings with their personal link. Check out the screenshot below – you now have the option to schedule meetings with a random, one-time code or the personal link you’ve created for yourself.

The even better news is that we are planning on adding even more goodies to the join.me scheduler, so stay tuned to the blog for updates.

What’s the next feature you’d like to see in the scheduler? Leave your suggestion in the comments.

Knowledge Workers and the technology they use at work

People aren’t using the same old technology at the office anymore. Tried-and-true solutions are being replaced with personal devices and new tools that better meet the demands of our fast-paced, hyper-connected workplace. Bring Your Own Solution is becoming the new norm, not just a passing trend. At least that was our hunch. We needed to find out what people were really using to get down to business. Working with Harris Interactive, we conducted a survey of U.S. knowledge workers in March 2012.

Our goal was to figure out 3 things:

  • How do today’s knowledge workers prefer to communicate and collaborate at work?
  • What tools, technology and solutions are they using, and why?
  • Are those tools employer-provided or personal?

The results were thought-provoking, and even a little eye-opening. Here’s what we found out.

join.me pro now features window sharing

It’s out of beta, and it’s here to stay: join.me pro now features window sharing. You can now choose to share your whole screen or just one open window. Check out our tutorial below:

Have you tried window sharing? What do you think?

New feature: Window sharing now in beta (Mac)

Ever wish you could share just one file on your computer instead of your whole desktop? Welcome to window sharing, now in beta.

join.me‘s debuted a whole new look for pro Mac users, allowing you to choose either your whole desktop or just one window for your viewers to see. This way, when you’re sharing your screen, you have more control over what your viewers see – no more pesky Outlook reminders or IMs popping up in your meetings (hey, it’s happened to all of us.)

To choose a window to share, click on the drop-down arrow under the broadcast button and click “Window”. Hover over any of the open windows on your computer and click one to start sharing. Ta-da: Your viewers now only see that one window and nothing else. Now, you can share anything – without sharing everything.

Mac users can check this feature out now by signing up or signing in with their pro credentials at beta.join.me and starting a session. Since we’re still in beta, feedback is wanted and welcome at beta@join.me.

Windows users: You’re up next – keep checking the blog for news on window sharing for Windows beta availability.

The most recent join.me release introduced the incredibly cool and simple Presenter Swap. We’ve also been hearing from our users that they are sometimes experiencing remote control from join.me where the mouse is a little jerky. Never fear: A fix is coming soon. We are on the case, and we’ll let you know when the issue is fixed. If you have questions in the meantime, email questions@join.me or call +1.877.251.8373.

UPDATE: This issue has been fixed. If you are still having issues, please free feel to email me at maggie@join.me.
