  1. I went to use Join.me today and the person at the other end got a blank screen.
When I got into on the application I could see it had been modified on the 24th
I had to toss it out of my applications folder and redownload it then it worked perfectly
Love it and everybody I show it to is very impressed

  2. Lion is just showing a black screen. Is this working? My version says 1.1.2.191
    Thank you.

      • Maggie – I’ve tried that multiple times and people are still seeing a black screen when they connect to my Macbook Pro with Retina display.

        • We’ve actually identified an issue with doing a screen sharing session on a MacBook Pro with retina display. We are releasing a fix for this soon. As soon as we do, I’ll let users know via the blog.

      • I’ve tried uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling on my Macbook Pro Retina machine and people still see a black screen. What should I do now?

  4. Can’t install it on Lion. The installer just disappears after clicking the first Continue button.

      • Hey Maggie, I am also having the same issue, but it appears as though the “installation package” is starting join.me rather than placing an application it into the applications folder, it is NOT installing, rather, its just “running in place”..

        • Hi Mike,

Let me make sure I understand you correctly. When you check the box that says “install join.me on my desktop” and it installs, it doesn’t act like a regular app – it still runs the package like it’s the first time you’re sharing?

          Let me know.

          Thanks,

          Maggie

  5. Now that Windows and Mac have support is there the chance that you will offer Linux support as well? I use Windows at work and Linux at home and it would be nice to be able to share my Linux desktop if needed. Thanks for the great products.

  6. When I try to install I get a small window that says connecting forever. I tried doing the manual install (copying join.me to the apps folder) but have the same problem. Any ideas?

  7. I get told The document “join.me.zip” could not be opened. The file isn’t in the correct format when I try to install on Mac lion
    any ideas?

  8. Hi Maggie,
Could you tell me where the application is installed when running on Lion? It seems like join.me is run from a package every time. Is this the case? If so, its a bit unusual, and you comment on why this is the case and why an app is not installed somewhere.

    Thanks,

    Bryan

  9. Hi,

I am on Windows 7 64bit and I get the same problem of the window just saying “connecting” without a connection being made.

My colleague also got the same thing. Back to WebEx….

    Cheers,

  10. Hi Maggie:
I’m wondering what the installation footprint is for the free Basic version? I had a customer “install” it today on a Windows 7 pc but when we went into the Control Panel to uninstall it, it wasn’t in the list of installed programs. Does it simply run in the current browser session or is it actually installed on the customer’s pc? Thanks.

  11. I have the same problem as Holly and John as well. My version’s 10.5.8 and join.me won’t open anymore after it updated itself.

  12. Is there a way to download older versions of Join Me? I have a Mac OS X Version 10.5.8. I downloaded Join Me a while ago and it ran on my computer perfectly fine. However when I went to open it today it said it was updating, and then said that the new version would not run on my computer because it was too old. I just want an older version of Join Me I can download and run on my ancient computer.

  13. I can’t join a meeting on my mac. Removed flash, reinstalled, tried chrome, firefox safari. All the browsers show that the file: deployJava.js is returning a 404 instead of the script and it results in just seeing a blue screen. Ironically I can share my screen just fine.

    • Steve – if you are running OSX version 10.5 or earlier, or have a 32-bit machine, join.me will no longer work on your Mac – we had to stop supporting those machines due to security reasons. Sorry about that.

  14. One of our users claims that join.me no longer supports Mac OSX 10.5.8, so we need to upgrade the mac to 10.6.8 or 10.7.
Is this true for join.me free? For join.me pro?

    • Hi Eliz,

With the release of our new Mac app in June, we had to stop supporting any Mac running on OS version 10.5 or any Mac running a 32-bit machine for several reasons. Unfortunately, there isn’t a separate app for the machines and OS’s we don’t support anymore. We had to do this for several reasons, and I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience.

      Maggie

  15. I am having this issue. New macbook pro bought recently. guests see a black screen. I tried copying the .pkg in to the app folder and re-ran it. did not resolve.

Is there a known fix for this yet?

  16. It was working fine for a long time until now when i try to open it, it says, “This version of join.me requires Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later.” & it says the same thing when i try to re-download it.

  17. Is anyone having issues with OS 10.6.8? Mine crashes after 5 seconds of loading. I am trying to use it to do some email marketing training. The software is fantastic because it works without the client needing to download anything. Please help.
