  • Save PC and Mac files directly on an iOS device for offline viewing
  • Create a local folder and filing system within Ignition on the iPad or other iOS devices

  1. Just installed iPad update; noticed that the file manager icon for my remote PC is greyed out. Does this feature require LogMeIn Pro, or am I missing a step?

    • Hi Bob, File manager and transfer between your iPad and the computer works with Free and Pro. If the computer is offline, the entire selection for that computer will be grayed out. Let me know if this solves your issue.

      • First, thanks for the reply!

Alas no; I can connect to the PC for a remote session as before, it’s just the new file icon that’s greyed out. I can access local files on the iPad fine.

I’ve since seen the same issue being raised on the community forum here

        • Thanks for pointing out the community link. You may need to update the LogMeIn host on your (remote) computer. Open up the LogMeIn software on the computer select Open LogMeIn>About>Check For Updates..

          • I had tried the “check for updates” and had been told there were none; however one automatically downloaded last night, as I was prompted to install it this morning. All working fine ever since. Thanks for the help!

      • I have the same issue – 3 of 4 machines are fine, one has the file manager grayed out – all are running same free version of desktop client

  2. No update 4 my Xoom or android? Im glad and sad, glad I can use the web interface sad no software yet for honeycomb

  3. I should add that I can remote control all 4 just fine, just that one has the File Manager icon greyed out (only).

    • Thanks Dean. Can you please verify that the host computer which is not working has the latest update. Open LogMeIn software on the machine and select About>Check For Updates.

    • Is there a particular format? Opening files maps to the files which the iPad is able to open. Any details would be helpful.

      • MKV, WMV…For viewing, logmein basiclly recommend other apps.

*Will you support all formats? and for now, which apps do you recommend for viewing…?

        thanks.

  4. Once I’ve downloaded a file to local storage on my iPad, is there a way to e-mail that file?

  5. When is the file explore/transfer feature coming to android handsets. I recently purchased (10) HTC Thunderbolts for my field technicians and have been searching for mobile access to the office server files for viewing and transfer. I thought a Hamachi Mobile type application would be ideal for this. Please advise. Thanks.

    • Thanks Joe. We’re looking into the ability for file transfer on Android. Hamachi currently allows you to create a virtual private network of Windows computers. At this time we do not have support for mobile devices.

  6. Would love to see the ability to send the file moved from a remote pc to a local laptop without internet connection. Will it be possible in the future to save a file from a remote computer then send that file via bluetooth or usb connection to a local laptop?

  7. Hi Dave,

Once I’ve downloaded a file to local storage on my iPad, is there a way to e-mail that file?

    Thanks,
    Cameron

    • Cameron good question. Today this would require a third party app. If you use Evernote which is a free app, you can open a file in Evernote and from there you can email it out. There are a number of other apps that can support this as well.

  8. “Plus the ability to wake a sleeping computer using Wake-On-LAN.” I cant seem to find out how to use this via the app. It works between my computers, but i cant find the option to turn on the computers in the app

      • I have already set up my computers for WOL and it works if i logg in to the website. But as it is now i cant do this with ignition.

“With the all-new LogMeIn Ignition, a user can:

I cant find this option in ignition, i can only find it in the website.

  9. Hello Dave,
I am able to get my word docs and excel files onto the iPad. I can then open them in Papers and Numbers. Once done working on them is there a way to get them back onto the Logmein so I can put them back on the computer where I got them from? Thanks for your time.

    • Thanks Shawn. This is not possible in Ignition today, but we are always interested in which 3rd-party apps users would find valuable for this type of integration.

  10. Any chance we’ll see the Rescue product integrated into Ignition? We use Central and Rescue extensively and I’d love to be able to utilize both from my iPad/iPhone.

    Thanks

  12. It has been several months since I have seen the issue of adding file copy functionality to the Android Ignition app, is this going to be added & if so, any idea when?

  13. Remote control is the blast at the moment. I am constantly in need of mobility but also computing power and remote control is the resolution. Amazing tips appreciates

  14. The newest version from LogMeIn, Inc. (Nasdaq:LOGM) adds file functions to Ignition’s remote control capabilities. It is the first iOS app to combine remote control with file management. The app is available now in the iTunes App Store and as a free update to current users.

  15. Are you stumped on what to have the gals on your own Christmas list.
A kid’s cookbook (great suggestion: The Cheerios Cookbook: Tasty Treats and Clever Crafts for Kids) and add a few of the non-perishable ingredients kids can use to produce some in the recipes. The price of an homemade pocketbook or purse is far less expensive and kind for a budget compared for the price tag on that snazzy clutch you merely saw within the store.

  16. Don’t make any assumptions about the watches on the market. People will notice your watch, well before they visit your shoes or other accessory you’re wearing, so setting the right tone is vital.
The point is that each of these designers

  17. There are also numerous e-books on the web that will
list many discounts and tips for saving money at Walt Disney World.
Check what type of promotions and discounts are
available in their website and decide which
type of coupons you can use. If we are going for an offline shopping and if we don”t find the specified product then we may not shop in such cases.

  18. Online coupon codes can either offer instant discounts by price cut percentage or US
