join.me now fully supports Windows 8

Today’s a good day for everyone who’s upgraded to Windows 8 – join.me now fully supports both sharing and viewing in Windows 8. Don’t have Windows 8 yet? There’s still two cool enhancements to join.me: One, your desktop app will now autofill (in the “join” field) your frequently visited personal URL’s. (Read: Less typing for you.) You can also move the join.me menu behind what you’re sharing – it’s a little more flexible now.

Happy sharing – let us know what you think in the comments.

  1. Can you let us know if join.me is planning on enhancing the Windows RT app so that it can host a meeting and/or control the screen of a meeting? I’m writing this on a Surface RT, to clarify what I am asking about. I am really glad to see the app there at all, so thank you for that!

  2. same as aneveucertify, i am buying a surface with RT and am hoping beyone hope that I’ll be able to host meetings on it! please tell me too!

    • Hi,

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to host meeting with a Surface running RT – you can only view.

If you’d like to request this feature, head on over to ideas.join.me – our new idea community.

What web host are you using? Can I get your affiliate
link to your host? I wish my web site loaded up as quickly as yours lol

  4. Hi, I am having nokia lumia 920. i am not able to find join me app in app list. can you please tell me if the app is available or any plans to relese for WP8

  5. What’s up it’s me, I am also visiting this website
regularly, this site is in fact nice and the viewers are in fact
    sharing good thoughts.

  6. Nice post. I learn something new and challenging on blogs I stumbleupon everyday.
It’s always exciting to read articles from other writers and practice something from other sites.

  7. Odd when a cmd prompt is brought up or i launch a control panel applet i loose control in join.me is this a known issue? I have to have the user click and type for me until cmd prompt or applet is closed.

  8. just did a session in w8 but it was not a nice experience.
loosing control all the time, screen flickering, very very very slow. Also keyboard mapping is wrong if client has different keyboard. Installing stuff gives uac prompts that i can not see remotely.

  9. I have a question about remote access on Win 8. When ever we use it and launch a program that requires admin rights it stops us from being able to have remote access. We can view but no longer have mouse controls.
